A police dog helped located a suspect after a vehicle reported stolen was seen Sunday in east Maple Ridge.

Ridge Meadows RCMP were called just after 6 p.m. when the registered owner of a stolen truck alleged he saw the vehicle.

Police followed the truck at a safe distance, until they found the truck unoccupied in the 23800-block of Kanaka Way.

The Integrated Police Dog Services attended and a track by the dog led police to the suspect lying in a ditch near 240 Street and 112 Avenue.

The suspect was held for court, according to RCMP.
