A woman from Port McNeill is facing a short-term future without a vehicle after crashing her Jeep in Qualicum Beach early Wednesday morning.
Oceanside RCMP Corporal Ricahrd van de Pol said police received a 9-1-1 call from a woman who said she was in a single vehicle crash at the intersection of Rupert and Memorial at 1:19 a.m.
“She said she had rolled and a wheel had fallen off the Jeep Wrangler she was driving,” he said. “Police attended and the complainant displayed signs of impairment.”
She failed a roadside breath sample, resulting in a 90-day driving suspension and the impoundment of her crippled Jeep.
