Women in Golden will be coming together on Friday Sept. 20 to take back the night.
Take Back the Night, an international initiative to take a stand against sexual violence, is being organized locally by the Golden Women’s Resource Centre.
“We march to recognize the importance of community safety, particularly in respect to women walking and jogging during evening hours and hours after dark,” said Mel Myers, outreach co-ordinator for the women’s centre.
Marchers will meet at the Spirit Square at 6:30 p.m. in Spirit Square for a march, as well as some speakers and performances.
