Two Chilliwack websites launched this week are just chock-a-block with key community resources.
The newly updated InfoChilliwack.ca was in the spotlight at city hall Wednesday, during the launch of the one-stop “portal” for seeking and accessing health and social services online in Chilliwack.
The easy-to-use site has a range of Chilliwack categories to peruse and also boasts enhanced and handy search functions.
Features of the site were demonstrated live at city hall by Cory Carruthers, deputy IT manager.
The presenters even engaged in a little website-related role-playing to further the cause. Karen Steegstra, Chilliwack Child and Youth Community Coordinator and Mike Sikora, social development coordinator for City of Chilliwack performed a little skit, showing how the new InfoChilliwack site could be useful and of value to someone new to the community.
Also unveiled in council chambers this week was the new website of the Chilliwack Social Research and Planning Council, (csrpc.ca), with it Chilliwack-based research reports, and other studies, along with a “data hub.”
The CSRPC was responsible for also developing the content of the InfoChilliwack site, along with the Chilliwack Healthier Community’s Community Connections Task Team.
The Chilliwack Social Research and Planning Council is a partnership of UFV, Fraser Health, City of Chilliwack, Chilliwack Economic Partners Corp., United Way of the Fraser Valley, Chilliwack School District and B.C.’s Ministry of Children and Family Development.
