Nearly $800,000 owed on home

Lawyers for a Vancouver lending company are hoping to repossess an Oak Bay house sold in a tax sale last year.

The house at 2367 Zela St. was auctioned off for $200,000 last year to Saanich resident Rob Dosanjh, after the previous owner, realtor Joyce Livia Hahn, failed to pay property taxes for three years.

It was the first tax sale in 25 years in the municipality. Documents filed in B.C. Supreme Court state that $784,854.30 is owed on the property. The mortgage company, Paradigm Quest, hopes to reclaim the home, then sell the house and land in order to recoup its investment. A court date is set for Feb. 23 in Victoria.
