A serious two-vehicle collision at the junction between the Trans-Canada Highway and Highway 97B closed the Trans-Canada in both directions for a short time Monday afternoon.
The highway reopened within an hour of the collision.
According to the Salmon Arm RCMP, a car travelling west on the Trans-Canada Highway turned left to go south on Highway 97B in front of a small SUV towing a boat trailer in the eastbound lane.
The SUV and boat overturned and the car was badly damaged.
According to the RCMP the occupant of the SUV was treated at the scene by ambulance personnel and the driver of the car was taken to hospital in Salmon Arm and treated for injuries believed to be non life threatening.
Traffic was re-routed down Highway 97B to avoid the collision.
Regional RCMP Traffic Services are continuing their investigation into the collision.
