As part of their 50th year of operations at Fording River in the Elk Valley, Teck is celebrating by hosting community drive-in movies in the communities of the valley.
The next community drive-in movie night will be in Elkford, where the company has nominated the Elkford Biking Club to be the recipient of all proceeds of the event. The club is currently working to raise funds for the construction of a bike skills park in town to help local kids stay active and outdoors.
“The Elkford Biking Club is pleased to have Teck be so engaged and willing to help with fundraising towards the bike park,” said club president Jason Meldrum.
“Fundraising efforts towards the design and planning stages are near complete, and money raised from the drive in movies will help top that up.”
Tickets go on sale through eventbrite June 18th at 6:00 pm. There is a suggested donation of $20 per vehicle, which will include free popcorn, licorice, water and pop. The movies will run July 3rd – Raya and The Last Dragon. And July 4th – the classic Jurrasic Park.
