There is an impressive line up of inspirational speakers scheduled to take the stage at the third annual TEDxLangleyED, taking place Jan. 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Chief Sepass Theatre at Langley Fine Arts School.

Driven by the power of ideas to change attitudes, TEDxLangleyED is a one-day event filled with innovation and education, put on by a group of volunteers within Langley and the school district.

This year’s theme is Courage and Curiosity, reflected in the line-up of speakers, including Olympic medalist Brent Hayden, Bruce Cairnie, Gabe Penner, John Harris, Katherine Mulski, Kathleen Forsythe, Langley School District Aboriginal support worker Kwantlen’s ‘man of sound’ Luke Dandurand, Sandy Balascak, inclusive education advocate Savanna Flakes, True Pay Na Moo, and Tim Stephenson.

There will also be performances by students.

TED is an annual event where some of the world’s leading thinkers and doers are invited to share their thoughts on topics  they are most passionate about. “TED” stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design — three broad subject areas that are, collectively, shaping the future.
