If you hadn’t been out enjoying the sun over the last week, today is the day. Environment Canada is forecasting a high of 23 degrees for Revelstoke and a UV index of 10.
As a result of the prolonged sunshine and high temperatures, Avalanche control will continue in Rogers Pass.
DriveBC says drivers can expect one to two hour closures between the west boundary of Glacier National Park and the Rogers Pass summit between 2 and 6 p.m.
They are also cautioning drivers to watch for fallen rocks and debris from Craigellachie to Revelstoke, and Revelstoke to the East boundary of Glacier National Park.
The warning comes after two accidents on Hwy. 1 yesterday between Craigellachie and the East Boundary of Glacier National Park, and after Three Valley Gap was closed for yet another rock slide on the evening of April 25.
