As construction on the city’s new Bainbridge water treatment plant continues, a temporary water supply shut down is required during the the installation of a large water main connection.

Crews will cut into the main water supply to the city and install a series of valves and fittings for the new treatment plant on Wednesday, Feb. 4 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

The city is asking all residents to minimize water use during this crucial time. The city will meet its minimum water needs and provide fire protection from its five water reservoirs.

“We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your efforts to conserve water use during this critical time,” said utilities superintendent Brian Mousley.

The new Bainbridge water treatment plant upgrade project will be completed Spring 2015.
