Third-annual event invites people to support marijuana legalization and hemp production

  • Apr. 20, 2015 11:00 a.m.

Terrace’s own marijuana advocate and multimillionaire Bob Erb began with about 40 people at his two-hour Erb 4 Herb 4-20 event this afternoon.

More people were still arriving to the third annual event and several already there were lighting up.

At 4:19 p.m. is a one-minute of silence for the victims of drug prohibition and the drug war.

Last year’s event saw about 300 people turn out to the second-annual event on the courthouse front steps.

Special guest speakers will talk at the event and the issue of hemp production and its benefits will be discussed as well.

The name 4-20 originated with a group of California youth who gathered to smoke marijuana at 4:20 p.m. each day but which has since evolved to hold marijuana legalization events across North America each April 20.

Erb 4 Herb 4-20 continues until 5 p.m. at the spare parking lot behind the arena under the white tents.
