Terrace RCMP forward charges on death from 2011

Two men could face charges in connection to the death of Troy Robert Mason at a Gitaus residence east of Terrace B.C. four years ago.

Terrace RCMP concluded its investigation into the death of Troy Mason that occurred on December 31st, 2011.

Charges of manslaughter and obstructing justice on a 22-year-old man and manslaughter on a 26-year-old man have been forwarded to Crown Counsel for review.

Original Terrace RCMP release January 10th, 2012:

RCMP have now confirmed the identity of [a male found dead in a Gitaus residence] as 25-year-old Troy Robert Mason, a resident of the home.

Police say results of an autopsy performed in Vancouver yesterday are not expected for several weeks.

They are treating the death as suspicious and are continuing their investigation.

RCMP say they are following up all leads and have been frustrated by the amount of misinformation circulating through social media.

Correction: the date of death of December 21, 2011 was incorrect in the originally posted story.
