Terry Fox Run looking for volunteers

Lace up your running shoes for the 32nd annual Terry Fox Run. The Cranbrook organizers are looking for volunteers to expand the event.

The Cranbrook Terry Fox Run is looking for volunteers to make the 32nd annual run a success once again.

Tammy Tait, volunteer run organizer for Cranbrook, said it is being held for the second time at the College of the Rockies on Sept. 16 after the success of last year. So far the run is the only event planned, but Tait said that could change if more volunteers are brought on board.

Tait has a big goal this year – to engage each and every resident of Cranbrook to get involved.

“Terry Fox only ever asked for one dollar from each Canadian, it would be amazing to get one dollar from each Cranbrook resident,” she said.

For every dollar raised, 86 cents goes towards cancer research. Tait said last year there were 30 participants and $2,000 was collected towards the Terry Fox Foundation.

If you’re interested in volunteering, contact Tait at (250) 426-0945 or email her at taito@shaw.ca. To participate in the run, download a pledge form from www.terryfox.org. Donations can also be made online.
