NANAIMO: Youth get a glimpse of space through museum program.
Alex Grace, 9, test launches a straw rocket shortly after assembling it at Nanaimo Museum Thursday. Children took part in the museum’s Rocket Lab Program, building straw rockets and rocket lollipops. The activities coincided with the To the Moon: Snoopy Soars with NASA exhibit portraying the early history of manned space flight and the Apollo 10 mission, which orbited the Moon in March 1969, just four months prior to the first manned lunar landing.
