The power of the flower is with you

A new fundraising effort for cancer awareness has begun at two Valley golf courses.

Now that spring seems to have finally made its way to the valley, everyone is thinking of gardening and golfing.

Well, have I got an idea for you!

Copper Point Golf is once again working with us to help raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society, in a very unique and interactive way.

They are inviting the community to take part in the Flower Power fundraiser on Saturday, June 4.

You will have the opportunity to plant one of the 48 flowerbeds at the two golf courses of Copper Point (CP).

Not only can you design your own garden, but a commemorative plaque will be placed in your garden with your name and the name of everyone else on your planting team. As well, a group photo of your team will hang in the CP clubhouse.

After all the gardens are complete, Copper Point will host a barbecue for all participants.  As an added bonus, each paid registrant will receive a $130 golf gift card to be used at either of the CP golf courses.

And Copper Point will donate all the proceeds, minus the cost of the flowers, to the Canadian Cancer Society.

This is a wonderful opportunity to show off your gardening skills, while getting a free golf game and barbecue, and also donating to a very worthy cause, all for the low cost of $125 per person.

If you are interested in registering, please contact me at your earliest convenience at 250-342-9059 or email me for an electronic registration form at sheilatutty@telus.net
