It was an intense and long-lived windstorm on Oct. 1 which shook the autumn leaves off of many a tree in the area last week.

The wind storm led to some clean up through the week, as trees which had blown down were cleared away and power restored where it had been lost.

The power was out for 125 people west of Oben Road and for around 180 at Tache, according to the BC Hydro postings. However, the company was able to restore power to all homes by the following day, and many within hours.

One tree came down in Cottonwood Park and needed to be dealt with by public works staff.

Waves on the lake led to a complete renovation of the the beach, leaving plants, shells and packed sand in their wake.
