Police responded to a domestic dispute, weapons possession and theft from vehicles during the weekend said Sgt. Rick LeBeuf of the Williams Lake RCMP detachment Monday.

On Saturday Aug. 15 at approximately 6:03 p.m. an abandon 911 call was received from a residence in the 400 block of Gibbon Street.

Officers attended and were advised by the homeowner that her ex-common-law partner was in her home against conditions of an undertaking forbidding him from being there.

The 45-year-old was arrested for breaching his conditions. He was released to appear in court on Sept. 9, 2015.

At 11:44 a.m. on Aug. 16, police received a report that a wallet had been stolen from a white Ford while it was parked in the 200 block of Dodwell Street.

The window in the truck was smashed to gain entry. The contents of the owner’s wallet were found near the 600 block of Pigeon.  The matter is still under investigation.

Also on Aug. 15 at 12:28 a.m. an 18 year old male was observed walking on Second Avenue North with a machete in a bundle of clothing cradled in his right arm.

He was arrested for possession of a weapon and a breach of his condition to not possess weapons.

The male is a resident of Williams Lake and is known to police. The male was held in custody to appear before a Justice of the Peace.

Police received a report at 7 p.m. Aug. 16 that a 2011 Dodge pickup was broken into while parked in the 100 block of Lakeview Avenue.

Several items were taken from the vehicle including a CB radio and satellite phone. The investigation is still ongoing.

Williams Lake RCMP Insp. Milo MacDonald said Monday the recent incarceration of two of the region’s prolific offenders has seen criminal activity decline in the last two weeks.

“There have been a few incidents but most of them have turned out to be mental health issues,” MacDonald said.
