Thief takes truckload of lumber

A suspect stole $2,000 worth of lumber last week on Dufferin Crescent

A suspect took $2,000 worth of lumber during a night-time theft last week.

According to Nanaimo RCMP press release, a suspect driving a dark-coloured truck stole an entire lift of assorted lumber products from Nanaimo Timberworks on Dufferin Crescent.

A surveillance camera recorded a driver in a high-visibility vest backing a truck into the unsecured lot at about 9:30 p.m. on Jan. 7, then returning at about 4:30 a.m.

“The camera was blurry and no real description was provided of the male or his truck,” the release noted.
