Thieves targeting snowmobiles in Sicamous

Two trucks, four sleds stolen on Saturday in two separate incidents.

Thieves are once again targeting snowmobiles in Sicamous.

On Friday, Jan. 10, the Sicamous RCMP detachment received a report that a truck with two sleds on the back deck were stolen around 6:20 a.m. from the Best Western parking lot.

The truck was later recovered near Enderby; however, the snowmobiles remain missing. One is a black 2009 Arctic Cat 800cc with a lime green windshield, VIN# 4UF09SNW59T107564. The second is a black Polaris 600cc, with a green stripe, VIN unavailable.

On the same day, police received a second report of a break and enter, during which another truck and two snowmobiles were stolen.

This incident occurred on Rauma Crescent. Vinet says the vehicles were stored in a shed. As in the first case, the truck was later recovered but the sleds remain missing. One is described as a black 2007 Polaris 600cc with a flame decal, VIN SN1PM6FS47C712578. The second is a black 2008 RMK Shift Polaris 600cc, VIN SN1PM6FS98C356582.
