Sicamous family welcomes baby Rose

Rose Dawson was born on New Year’s Day, just like her mother, and her grandfather.

The North Okanagan’s first baby of 2021 is a third generation New Year’s baby.

“We were not planning on having the first baby of 2021, however my wife was hoping that she might come on the first because it is her birthday as well as her father’s,” proud dad David Dawson said.

Davanna Dawson delivered baby Rose at Vernon Jubilee Hospital Jan. 1, 2021 at 2:37 a.m.

Five-year-old twins Logan and Aurora Dawson are thrilled to welcome their little sister to the world.

The Sicamous family’s newest addition weighs seven pounds, six ounces.

“Mom and baby are doing great and the delivery was quick and uneventful,” David said.

Davanna and her father were both New Year’s babies in Revelstoke.

Rose also has a great grandmother in Vernon.

The baby girl was almost the first baby of the year in the Interior Health but was beat out by two other baby girls. Parents Ashley and Tyler Robinson welcomed their New Year’s day baby at 1:22 a.m. at Kelowna General Hospital.
