Stepping off the side of a 13 story building in downtown Victoria wasn’t a problem for 88-year-old Fred McMurray. The former tree rigger joined his grand-daughter Kara Goetze as they rappelled down the building during the annual Easter Seals Drop Zone charity event.
Trained staff were on hand to harness participants and help them over the edge and down the building. Some participants came dressed in costumes while others were in their street clothes..
All the money raised in Victoria stays on Vancouver Island in support of Easter Seals Camp Shawnigan, a specialized camp for island children with disabilities. Each participant raises funds individually for the event.
