People lined the streets of Parksville in the thousands yesterday to watch the city’s Canada Day Parade.

Local businesses, organizations and groups took part in the event, which made its way along the Island Highway and up Craig Street to the Parksville Community and Conference Centre. The celebrations, organized by the Parksville and District Chamber of Commerce, then moved down to Community Park where there were vendors, all-day musical entertainment and fireworks sponsored by Thrifty Foods.
