More than 300 people attended the Williams Lake Boys and Girls Club annual Street Party Wednesday evening.
“We guess between 320 and 350 people attended the event last night,” said executive director Matt Neufeld.
The event featured a number of kiosks set up with children’s activities as well as a bouncy castle. Youth participated in events such as stencil tattoos, face and rock painting, basketball, giant kerplunk and snakes and ladders.
The highlight ofWednesday’s event was the water fight between RCMP officers and the youth.
“The water fight with the police seems to be the highlight of the event each year. We had three officers and one auxiliary officer battling the kids with water balloons and water guns,” said Neufeld.
Next up for the Boys and Girls Club is their Shifting Gears fundraiser in September.
The mountain bike event features cyclists taking various routes and eventually ending in Boitanio Park where prizes will be given out.
