Three people were taken to hospital following a collision on Highway 97 near Wildwood last Wednesday.

Shortly before 5 p.m., the Williams Lake RCMP, BC Ambulance, and Search and Rescue Auto Extraction responded to the collision, which was near Lynes Road.

A lone vehicle had left the roadway and went down an embankment, the Williams Lake RCMP say.

Upon arrival, police saw two injured females being tended to by bystanders on the road and an injured male passenger still down by the vehicle.

SAR helped assist the male out of the vehicle.

All three were taken to Cariboo Memorial Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say it appears the vehicle lost control and left the roadway. Alcohol and speed are suspected to be a factor, but no charges are pending at this time.
