A logging truck flipped and lost its load along Sugar Lake Road Monday afternoon closing the road for several hours.

The incident occurred around four kilometres north of Cherryville at Aumond Road just after noon Monday, Aug. 24.

Drive BC reported an assessment was underway two hours later and the road was subsequently closed in both directions for around five and a half hours.

The road was reopened at 5:23 p.m., according to the provincial agency.

“Everyone seems to be doing OK,” Facebook user and witness Jessica Wallace reported, noting the truck tipped near a “sharp bend.”

Last month, Highway 6 was closed in both directions in Lumby for nearly four hours after a logging truck spilled its load on July 20.
