Tire chains worth $12,000 stolen from Vernon storage yard

Thieves made off with 60 sets of tire chains from a Vernon equipment storage yard.

The break-and-enter at the Western Equipment storage yard, in the 1000 block of Middleton Way, happened either on Thursday evening or early Friday.

The theft was discovered by staff Friday morning.

“The chains stolen were TRYGG brand and were in white-and-blue bags,” said Vernon RCMP Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy.

The chains are 11RX24.5 7mm/8mm and 12.00RX24 7mm, and are valued at approximately $12,000.

Police are reviewing to see if there is any video footage from the area that may help with their investigation.

Anyone with information regarding this break- and-enter or the current location of these chains is asked to call the Vernon RCMP detachment at 250-545-7171.
