Today’s Weather and Highway Report – Feb. 21

Snow forecast for this morning and slippery road conditions

Good morning Campbell River, it looks like we’re going to get a chance of snow today, starting this morning sometime, according to Environment Canada.

Temperatures are expected to be around zero today and then dropping to -2 tonight with a chance of flurries.

On the highways, watch for slippery sections on Highway 28 in both directions from Gold River to Buttle Narrows (40.2 km), DriveBC says.

Also, on local highways, make note of two current planned events in the area:

Maintenance on Highway 19 Northbound. Telus is doing emergency repairs. Campbell River – Race Point Road to Menzies Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The road will be reduced to single lane alternating traffic.

Another special event will affect Highway 19 southbound. The Wounded Warrior Run will be coming through from Sayward. A rolling slow lane closure will be in effect.
