Tools, computers taken from Hydro offices

Work vehicles were damaged, tools stolen, employee lockers ransacked and several laptop computers taken when thieves broke into B.C. Hydro offices on Madsen Road on the weekend.

Const. Sherri Wade, Nanaimo RCMP spokeswoman, said the culprits cut through a metal security fence to get into the property. The break and enter was discovered by an employee Sunday morning.

Estimated value of the stolen items including six Panasonic Toughbook computers is $30,000.

Police are investigating.
