Tossed lawnmower in Fernwood damages parked car

VicPD trying to track down three young suspects

A Fernwood resident found themselves in the unusual position of reporting that a lawnmower had been thrown onto the roof of a parked car last weekend.

When officers arrived on Capital Heights around 3:19 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 26, the three “not so higher functioning individuals” had left the area, Deputy Police Chief John Ducker wrote on the department’s online operations blog.

The lawnmower had fallen onto the sidewalk, but the damage to the parked car was unmistakable.

The suspects, said to be youths, could not be located, and police are now seeking the public’s assistance.

One suspect is a white female, very short with a small build. She was seen wearing a black-and-white checkered sheepskin shirt.

“The other two suspects are only described as males,” Ducker said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
