Town of Comox selects director of finance

The Town of Comox is pleased to announce the selection of its new director of finance, Clive Freundlich, effective July 4.

The Town of Comox is pleased to announce the selection of its new director of finance, Clive Freundlich, effective July 4.

Freundlich will be responsible for the financial administration of the Town including but not limited to receiving all monies paid to Comox, investing municipal funds as authorized and expending funds in the manner authorized by council. Other responsibilities will include the development of an asset management plan including completing inventory of assets along with ensuring adequate funding for maintenance and replacement.

Prior to joining the Town, Freundlich began his career in 1989 at the Municipal Finance Authority of BC. He then worked for the City of Revelstoke, District of Oak Bay and Town of Ladysmith in a variety of financial-related positions including Collector, IT Manager, Purchasing Manager and Director of Finance.

Since 2006, he turned his attention to consulting. He has since been providing various municipal clients with budgeting and financial decision-making processes.

Freundlich holds the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and Certified General Accountant (CGA) designations.
