I recently had the dubious honour of travelling along a freeway that had eight and sometimes ten lanes of traffic each direction, It was absolutely horrendous, as I am sure you can imagine. I was not the driver but, instead the navigator.
It was tough, I gotta tell ya! The @##! GPS system was not easy to follow with two and sometimes three lanes exiting and merging on both right and left at the same time! Ugh … I wonder where they were all going in such a big hurry?
You know that they were all going faster than posted speed limit too. Sheesh,it was a bit freaky! I thought it looked kinda like a Sci-Fi movie or something. We were ants moving in rows, haha.
It got me thinking about courtesy during our ventures with our vehicles. I realize that we all need to get somewhere for some important reason at whatever time.
It naturally helps us all to arrive safely if we are extra nice to that driver out there who is soooo focused they only think of what lane they need and don’t see that others may either be ahead of them or waiting for it too. I know, no one is perfect. There is also no way to predict what the other drivers are doing … buuuut … we can control how we act and react right? Somewhat, anyway!
Just a reminder that the way things look … at least it seemed like a freeway foreshadow … to me, that our local and sometimes whatever city traffic that we get involved in will always be continually unpredictable.
Please take that second when you can to be courteous to others and know that the traffic is forever moving along and hopefully we all arrive safely.
