Revelstoke RCMP made a large marijuana seizure after stopping a man who was speeding on the Trans-Canada Highway on Friday.
The stop occurred in the early morning hours of July 25 when a member of the Revelstoke RCMP conducted a traffic stop on an eastbound pickup truck on the Trans-Canada Highway near Highway 23 South.
Police searched the vehicle and uncovered about 50 kilograms of marijuana concealed in a hidden compartment in the truck, said Cpl. Thomas Blakney.
He is believed to have been heading to Calgary.
A 38-year-old Alberta man was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, and given a speeding ticket. He is scheduled to appear in Revelstoke court in November.
