A 30-year-old Lake Country man is facing criminal charges after being found behind the wheel of a pickup truck which had been reported stolen in 2009 from Williams Lake.

During a routine traffic stop on Tuesday, Jan. 21, a member of the Lake Country RCMP determined the vehicle’s Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) did not match the registration papers produced by the male driver.

The man faces a recommended criminal charge of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and was released from police custody on a promise to appear in the Kelowna Law Courts on March 31.
