Trail fills a key role in public works

Dave Moorehead has been appointed to roads and grounds superintendent

The City of Trail announced on Monday that a key position in public works has now been filled.

Dave Moorhead was appointed to the role of Roads and Grounds Superintendent.

Moorhead currently works in the city’s engineering department, and will start his new job with the Trail Public Works Department on April 30.

“The city received 14 applications for the position,” said David Perehudoff, Trail’s Chief Administrative Officer.

“Dave is a red seal journeyman carpenter and brings strong technical knowledge and supervisory skills that he gained from previous employment. Dave has demonstrated his commitment to the city and has a very strong work ethic.

“We are very confident that he is the right fit for this position and that he will enhance and complement the strong management team that has been developed at public works.”

Moorhead’s current position in municipal engineering, as well as a previous position he held with Trail public works, has provided him with a strong working knowledge of the city’s transportation services and detailed knowledge of the city’s layout.

“Dave recently completed the first year of the Civil Engineering Technologist program at SAIT in Calgary, with a very high GPA,” Perehudoff said.

“We look forward to seeing Dave excel in his new role.”
