Ladysmith Fire Rescue, (LFR) responded to a trailer truck fire on the Trans Canada Highway near Roberts Street Friday morning.
Fire Chief Ray Delcourt said the fire was caused by mechanical issues with the truck’s brakes. The back tires caught fire and caused flames to shoot up the back of the trailer.
Several videos posted to Facebook show the truck on the side of the highway as LFR members douse the flames.
The truck was not carrying any cargo, and there were no injuries reported.
