Western Forest Products officials have confirmed a train with WFP personnel aboard has derailed near Woss.
“We are co-operating fully with all authorities and will continue to do so,” WFP spokesperson Amy Spencer told The Gazette at 11:15 a.m. Thursday.
Spencer did not have any more details about the number of WFP personnel on board the train or any possible injuries.
There were unconfirmed reports BC Ambulance personnel were dispatched to the scene near Woss.
According to Wikipedia, the Englewood Railway is headquartered in Woss and the line runs 90 km (56 mi) from Vernon Lake, through Woss, past Nimpkish Lake Provincial Park to Beaver Cove. It is the last operating logging railroad in North America.
