Transit service to expand during Courtenay bridge rehabilitation

The Comox Valley Regional District board approved a 3,000-hour transit service expansion to address the impacts of upcoming work to rehabilitate the 5th Street Bridge, and for increased frequency on route number one.

The Comox Valley Regional District board approved a 3,000-hour transit service expansion to address the impacts of upcoming work to rehabilitate the 5th Street Bridge, and for increased frequency on route number one.

At Tuesday’s (Jan. 12) meeting, the board also approved 600 additional hours for September to address service gaps in the Back Road area.

“This expansion would provide better transit service throughout the K’ómoks First Nation IR number one area of the community,” said Michael Zbarsky, the CVRD’s manager of transit and facilities.
