TransLink fare increase coming July 1

The transit agency says higher prices will fund transportation improvements

i Riders taking TransLink around Metro Vancouver will see a five to 10 cent increase in fare prices starting on July 1.

According to the transportation agency, single use concession fares will see a five cent increase and single use adult fares will go up by 10 cents. Monthly fares will go up by between $1 and $2 and DayPass fares will increase by 25 cents. The increases will also apply to fares paid using Compass Card stored value.

The new fares were approved at a March 30 TransLink board meeting and are the first increases since 2013.
