The final draft of the Transportation Plan Update for Chilliwack is soon to be hot off the presses.
The resulting report is “very thorough” as well as interesting, according to Mayor Sharon Gaetz.
The plan consolidates all of Chilliwack’s transportation priorities into one major document with 17 chapters.
“It’s all about how to get goods, services, and people around Chilliwack,” the mayor added.
Gaetz offered praise for the summarized version of the plan at the council meeting Tuesday, adding it’s a “good read,” for members of the public.
“I invite the community to look at this report,” she said.
Council also voted to send the final draft to the Transportation Advisory Committee for review and comment.
The report will be searchable shortly on the city website, on the Roads and Transportation page at www.chilliwack.com.
The report by consultants ISL covers: Where the new signalization is going, the Cycle Plan details, where traffic growth is happening and which arterials are going to be widened or repaved. It looks at pedestrians, bridges, parking downtown, and plans for bus routes.
