Apex Mountain has announced the rescheduled date of the run planned to honour the late Brayden Kuroda.
The “Run for Brayden” will be held on Saturday, March 14 at 1 p.m. at the top of Kristi’s Run. Apex is inviting anyone who wishes to commemorate the young skier to attend.
The event was originally planned for Feb. 22 but was postponed at his family’s request.

Additionally, a service and celebration of his life will take place March 30 at the Penticton Lakeside Resort and Conference Centre at 1:30 p.m.
Kuroda passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 17 at the age of 19. The Canadian national freestyle team skier from Penticton grew up honing his skills at Apex.
Kuroda, and his parents Kenni and Berva, were “integral part of the Apex community ever since Brayden was brought in to this world,” said Apex Mountain general manager James Shalman.
“Brayden was a very talented freestyle skier with his talents reaching far beyond the snow with his charismatic personality, energy, leadership and positive attitude.”
During the event, there will be photos at bottom of Kristi’s Run before participants ski down to the Gunbarrel Deck for a toast.
People who require snowmobile transport to Kristi’s Run are asked to contact the Apex Mountain administration office.
