Truck with propane tank catches fire in downtown Chilliwack

RCMP set up perimeter at Wellington and College as fire crews extinguish blaze in Chilliwack

A truck carrying a propane tank caught fire in downtown Chilliwack on Friday.

Chilliwack Fire Department responded to a fully engulfed vehicle in a parking lot at Wellington Avenue and College Street on Aug. 27 which reportedly had a 40-pound propane tank on it.

RCMP were called to the scene to set up a perimeter in the area.

The fire was quickly knocked down. Firefighters then removed the tank from the truck to cool it down.
