The Heart and Stroke Big Bike will be returning to Golden for a 20th time on Wednesday, May 15.

Jacquie Goldie, the co-ordinator for the event in Golden, is excited to be involved with the event this year.

This is the 20th year Goldie has been involved with the ride in Golden.

She said she is looking forward to the event again this year

“I have been with it since the beginning. I started out as a rider and it has just carried on over the years,” she said.

Goldie said heart and stroke problems are very big issues for not only the people of Golden, but across Canada as well.

“Teams are always changing and I am hoping many people will come out, whether to ride or for support,” she said.

The bike itself can hold up to 29 riders and Goldie said the people who come out are amazed when they see it.

“It is awesome,” she said. “I think it is a worthy cause and many people are affected by heart and stroke issues.”

Riders must be 14 years of age and need to have ID to take part in the event.

Goldie said the ride only takes about 15 minutes, and it is a great deal of fun for people who come out to the event.

Anyone interested in taking part can contact Goldie at 250-344-6614 or 250-344-1047. You can also find Goldie on  her personal Facebook page and send her a message.
