Abbotsford Senior and Robert Bateman each have one student who tested positive

Two Abbotsford schools are among the first in the Fraser Health region to report COVID-19 exposures for 2021.

Abbotsford Senior Secondary School recorded Jan. 4 and 6 as exposure dates, while Robert Batemen Secondary reported Jan. 4 and 5 during the first week back at school after the Christmas break.

An exposure is defined as one person testing positive for the virus who attended school during their infectious period.

Fraser Health states that the children of those who do not receive a phone call or letter from public health should continue to attend school.

Those who are close contacts will be advised to self-isolate and monitor for symptoms for 14 days.

“Only public health can determine who is a close contact. Learning groups, friends or other connections may not be determined to be a close contact,” Fraser Health says on its website.
