Two men wanted on drug charges out of Surrey were arrested at the Pacific Highway border Saturday after U.S. officials determined the pair were wanted on drug-related charges.
According to a news release issued Wednesday evening by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, warrants for the southbound travellers – both Vietnam nationals and Canadian citizens – were detailed in a Canadian Police Information Centre report.
Both were wanted for possession for the purpose of trafficking.
The men were returned to Canada and arrested by RCMP.
CBP assistant area port Director Terry Schulze described the incident as “another example of how our two countries work seamlessly together.
“The integrated partnership we have with Canada is outstanding,” Schulze said in the release.
