The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken over a Surrey RCMP case after two men were shot and killed on Friday, Oct. 28.

Just before 7:30 p.m., police responded to the area of 159 Street and 110 Avenue for a report of a shooting.

When they arrived, they located two males with gunshot wounds.

One male was pronounced dead at scene and the second was transported to hospital by ambulance.

Despite best efforts, the second male victim also died as a result of his wounds.

The two male victims have been identified as, Vikram Toor, 24, and Ashim Raza, 19.

Investigators are trying to determine motive and if the shooting was targeted.

Police believe that this homicide is independent from other recent acts of violence that have occurred around the Lower Mainland.

It is early in the investigation, and IHIT continues to work with the Surrey RCMP, the Integrated Forensic Identification Section and the BC Coroner’s Service to gather evidence for the investigation.

“It is early in the investigation, but police are making every effort to establish the motive for the shooting,” Said RCMP Cpl. Meghan Foster. “We ask that the public exercise vigilance, while we work to find justice for our victims and their families.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact IHIT at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihittipline@rcmp-grc.gc.ca. Should you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers by phone at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
