Two hours passed before Abbotsford Police were called after a deadly shooting in central Abbotsford Friday.
Police were called just after 4:30 p.m. but a “review of the evidence so far indicates that the shooting occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m.,” according to a press release from the Integrate Homicide Investigation Team.
APD Sgt. Judy Bird confirmed the timeline.
Bird said she did not know why so much time passed before a call was made.
When police arrived, they discovered 20-year-old Jaskarn Lally dead at his home in the 3500 block of Chase Street, with apparent gunshot wounds, the release says.

The death appears to have been targeted, according to IHIT.
“Mr. Lally was known to police, and was associated to local gangs,” Cpl. Meghan Foster of IHIT said in the release. “This outcome is another example of the risks associated with gang life, and those involved are not protected from the dangers of it.”
IHIT released a photo of a dark-coloured Ford F-150 they say fled the scene of the shooting.
