Terrace RCMP responded to 28 calls for service from February 18, 8 a.m. till February 19, 8 a.m.
During the same time period, there have been seven people lodged in Terrace Cells – of these people, four were lodged for intoxication.
Downtown Terrace
A brown 1984 Toyota Camry was pulled over on Apsley St./Greig Ave. The front and rear licence plate did not match. The driver and passenger were not wearing seatbelts. The 63-year-old driver did not have a driver’s licence, was a vehicle impound candidate, and had a notice to serve a prohibition. The driver provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in a warn. He was served an Immediate Roadside Prohibition and the vehicle he was driving was impounded. He was also served other paperwork in regards to the notices and offences.
Police observed a man staggering down Lakelse Ave./Emerson St. The 46-year-old intoxicated man was arrested.
Police observed a fight breaking out on Sparks St./Lakelse Ave. A 22-year-old intoxicated and aggressive man was arrested.
Police observed an intoxicated man bothering another person on Greig Ave./Kalum St. The 28-year-old man was arrested.
An intoxicated man was told to leave the Shopper’s Drug Mart on Lakelse Ave. When he left, the theft alarm was activated. Police arrested the 28-year-old man a short distance away.
A green 2001 Ford Taurus was pulled over on Lakelse Ave./Atwood St. He had a notice to serve a driving prohibition. Same done. An amount of marijuana was seized.
Elsewhere Terrace
Third hand report of a woman being assaulted in a domestic situation. Police attended and found an intoxicated 37-year-old woman causing problems and a man who had barricaded himself in a washroom to avoid the woman. Investigation determined that an assault did not occur. The woman was transported to the care of a sober person.
False residential alarm on McConnell Ave.Vandals destroyed solar lights and a flower bed of a residence on Lazelle Ave.
Warrants were issued for a 23-year-old man, 25-year-old woman, and a 19-year-old man for failing to attend court.
Group of intoxicated people in the band shelter at George Little Park. Police attended and spoke with a group of people in the band shelter. There were no signs of impairment.
False residential alarm on Skeena St.
Concerns about the mental health of a family member. Police gave advice on the matter.
False business alarm on Kalum St.
Yelling and screaming from a residence. Police attended and heard a woman whimpering and the sounds of punching. Police forced open the residential door and observed a man assaulting a woman. The 33-year-old man was arrested. Police had to force the man to the floor when he failed to follow directions given. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.

False business alarm on Eby St.

Suspicious person on Kerby St. The person was a meter reader on legitimate business.
Assist bylaw officer with document service.
Well-being check of a woman. She was fine.
Police arrested a 57-year-old man and a 47-year-old man for drug trafficking. An amount of cocaine was seized from the 57-year-old man. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel on both.
Intoxicated aggressive woman refusing to leave the Northern Motor Inn. She left prior to police attendance.
Rural
A jackknifed semi-trailer in the ditch on Hwy 37 south near Westside Rd. No injuries.
Harassing text messages. Police spoke with the people involved and gave advice on the matter that consisted of changing phone number.
A silver Ford truck lost control, hit the ditch, and flipped just south of the Airport on Hwy 37. No injuries.
