Two men are currently on trial in B.C. Supreme Court in New Westminster for the March 28, 2009 murder of Kyle Barber.
The trial of Albert Jacob Jackman, 24, and Gregory Michael Barrett, 32, began on Monday. Jackman is charged with first-degree murder, while Barrett faces a charge of manslaughter.
Two men came to Barber’s home at 244 Street and Fraser Highway. The trial was told on Tuesday that Jackman and Barrett said they were neighbours, and then pushed their way in.
Barber’s girlfriend testified that Jackman accused Barber of robbing him.
Barber, 24, was stabbed around 11 p.m. after a fight broke out inside the house. Neighbours called 911 after hearing a woman crying frantically.
Barber was found in the front yard, bleeding from several stab wounds to his face, head and chest. He was rushed to hospital where he died.
