Two men sent to hospital following West Quesnel shooting

Their injuries are believed to be non-life threatening

Two men have been sent to hospital with non-life threatening injuries following a shooting at approximately 4:30 a.m. this morning in West Quesnel (Sept. 6).

“At 4:30 this morning we received calls of gunshots heard at the 900 block of Abbott Drive. We responded, located evidence of evidence of a shooting in that area,” said Sgt. Chris Riddle of the Quesnel RCMP on Thursday morning.

Shortly after, officers located a vehicle believed to be involved with the incident parked in the 500 block of Doherty Drive.

After checking local apartment buildings, two men were found suffering from gunshot wounds and transferred to hospital.

The Quesnel RCMP, and the North District Emergency Response Team and Police Dog Services from Prince George attended the scene.

Riddle said the public is not believed to be at risk at this time.

The RCMP is asking anyone who saw something suspicious between 4:15 a.m. and 4:45 a.m. Thursday in West Quesnel to give them a call at 250-992-9211.
