Two men steal hot water tank from residence

Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 33 calls for service from August 28th, 8 a.m. till August 29th, 8 a.m.

Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 33 calls for service from August 28th, 8 a.m. till August 29th, 8 a.m.

During the same time period, eight people were lodged in Terrace cells – three of these people were lodged for intoxication.

Downtown Terrace

Police observed a large group in a clearing behind the Skeena Liquor Store. An amount of alcohol was dumped. A 38 yr old man was arrested for breaching his undertaking condition of not to consume alcohol. He was released then arrested later in the evening near the arena for same. He is held for court.

Intoxicated man needing help at the Skeena Liquor Store. Police located the intoxicated 65 yr old man lying on the floor near the store bleeding from his head from a fall. BC Ambulance transported the man to Mills Memorial Hospital for assessment.

Police observed a man passed out in the bushes off Atwood St. The 29 yr old man was arrested.

An iPhone 4s was stolen when a person set the phone on the counter of a store in the Skeena Mall briefly. Under investigation.

Intoxicated man stumbling down Park Ave. fell and hit his head. BC Ambulance transported the 61 yr old man to Mills Memorial Hospital for assessment.

A man and woman fighting on Lazelle Ave. Checks were done of the area.

Elsewhere Terrace

Missing 14 yr old girl.

Harassment complaint. Police spoke with a man.

A woman seen yelling at a man leaving a residence. Police located an intoxicated 25 yr old woman in the area and arrested her. Police requested the assistance of Ministry of Children and Families with a four-month-old baby found in a residence unattended.

Harassment complaint. Police spoke with the people involved.

A red Pontiac travelling on Keith Ave. struck a pedestrian. Investigation determined that the pedestrian ran into traffic and struck the car then fled before police arrived. Minor damage to the vehicle.

A man slapped a woman in front of the Back Eddy Pub. Police arrested a 55 yr old man. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.

False residential alarm on Evergreen St.

People were observed walking towards the river to drink alcohol. A man was missing when the group returned. Checks were done of the area.

Speeding vehicle travelling to Terrace from Kitsumkalum. Police spoke with the driver.

A white 2013 Toyota Highlander was pulled over on Kalum Lake Rd. The 42 yr old driver provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in a fail. He was served an Immediate Roadside Prohibition and the vehicle he was driving was impounded.

Intoxicated man passed out near the Terrace Court House. Police requested the assistance of BC Ambulance due to the level of intoxication of the man. The 20 yr old man was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital.

A man was sleeping in his green 2002 Ford F-150 truck parked at his residence on Legion Ave when the passenger and driver’s side windows were smashed out.

Theft of a wallet from an unlocked 2006 Volkswagon Jetta parked at a residence on Park Ave.

Two men in a white Chevrolet truck with a burned out taillight stole a hot water tank from the front of a residence on Haugland Ave. that is currently a construction site. The truck headed north on Evergreen and turned left on Keith Ave.

Assist Ministry of Children and Families with an investigation.

Police observed an intoxicated man passed out at the Terrace Arena. Police arrested the 27 yr old man. Checks determined that there was a warrant for his arrest out of New Hazelton.

Group of intoxicated people in behind the Casino. Checks were done of the area.

Thornhill

A shotgun and ammunition were turned into the detachment for destruction.

Party in the bushes at the end of Paquette Ave. Checks were done of the area.

Noisy neighbour. Police spoke with a man. Unfounded complaint.

Intoxicated familial dispute. En route police arrested an intoxicated 17 yr old girl sitting on the side of the road with no shoes and only one sock. Investigation determined that she was connected to the familial dispute, but not part of the family dispute. She was turned over to a sober person. A resolution was reached with the family members that were fighting.

Police pulled over a 2004 Ford F150 when fuel was smelled emitting from the vehicle. The driver had an expired driver’s licence. The vehicle was leaking diesel fuel that police followed from Thornhill Frontage Rd along the highway through town and out to Kitsumkalum Forest Service Rd. Under investigation.

Rural

Abandoned vehicle on Hwy 16 near Oliver Creek. Police spoke with the registered owner.

A black 2013 Ford Focus passed on a double solid line near the Hot Springs on Hwy 37. Police spoke with the driver.

A young child sitting in the lap of the driver of a grey 2005 Mazda Sedan on Hwy 16 west. Checks were done of the area.

Police observed a white 2013 Ford F150 pass a sedan at speeds of 154 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone. The 51 yr old driver produced an out-of-country driver’s licence. The vehicle he was driving was impounded.
